7.30pm ‐ Celebration of the 1934 Great Air Race. 90 years ago the Great Air Race, Mildenhall to Melbourne, took place and we celebrate the event with at least two of those original aircraft still airworthy ‐ The Comet G-ACSS and the Puss Moth G-AAZP. The Comet Black Magic is also undergoing restoration. Our speakers have experience of flying the same types as some which flew to Melbourne and we will hear from: 'Dodge' Bailey ‐ The Comet G-ACSS Grosvenor House and the Collection's Desoutter; Peter Greenyer ‐ The Miles Falcon and Mark Miller ‐ The Dragon Rapide. |
