About the Vintage Aircraft Club

Aims and History

The present Vintage Aircraft Club has evolved from the Vintage Aircraft Group, which was originally formed in 1964. The change of name in 1974 reflected the expanding membership and scope of the club. The aim of the Vintage Aircraft Club is to provide a focal body for owners, pilots and enthusiasts of vintage and classic light aircraft by arranging fly ins and other events for the benefit of its members.

The Committee

The club is run by a committee headed by our Chairman, Peter Wright. More information about Peter and his views on what the club is all about can be found here. The Vice Chairman is Steve Slater.. The Type Club Liason Officer and Ground Visits Co-ordinator is Anne Hughes. Paul Loveday is the Membership Secretary and Newsletter Editor. Sandy Fage is the Secretary and Treasurer. John Broad looks after Flight Safety. Press and Public Relations is managed by Alan Buckley. The Flying Events Co-ordinator is allocated on an event by event basis. Sales of VAC Merchandise are managed by Cathy Silk, and the Trophies Steward is Rob Stobo. Contact details for all committee members can be found in the magazine.

Trophies and Awards

There are a number of Trophies and Awards which club members can be nominated for every year. If you would like to nominate a member, a form for doing so is distributed every year with the appropriate issue of the club magazine, or you can download it here. Just print it out, fill it in and post it to the Trophies Steward, Rob Stobo. His address is on the form. The deadline for this year is the 14th January 2017. Download Trophy Nominations Form Here!.
